The Atlantic — Covers news and analysis on politics, business, culture, technology, national, international and life on the official site of The Atlantic Magazine.

Alan Rinzler, Consulting Editor — Rinzler, a veteran book publishing insider, offers private editorial services to writers and agents.

ArtsJournal — Daily arts news from more than 100 newspapers, magazines and e-publications.

Betsy Lerner's blog The Forest for the Trees — Lerner "wrote a book called The Forest for the Trees and it's an advice book for writers. This blog hopes to continue in the spirit of the book, answering basic questions such as how to write an effective query letter to more complex issues involving writers' personalities, especially but not limited to their self-destructive proclivities. But mostly, it's a place to regularly vent about publishing." (Baldi Agency reads her every day.)

Harper's Magazine — The oldest general interest monthly in America, explores the issues that drive our national conversation through such celebrated features as Readings, Annotation, and Findings, as well as the iconic Harper's Index.

Head Butler — A plugged-in cultural concierge who will tell you about books, music and movies.

Jeanette Winterson — The author's site includes poetry, short stories, monthly column, journalism articles, excerpts from all her books, and links to interviews.

Jennifer Egan — Egan's new book, A Visit From the Goon Squad, a national bestseller, won the 2011 National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, and is a finalist for the Pen Faulkner Award and the LA Times Book Prize, as well as a longlist finalist for the UK's Orange Prize. Lapham's Quarterly — Each issue of Lapham's Quarterly adopts and explores a single theme.

McSweeney's Quarterly & Books — McSweeney's began in 1998 as a literary journal that published only works rejected by other magazines. That rule was soon abandoned, and since then McSweeney's has attracted work from some of the finest writers in the country.

Morbid Anatomy — Located in Brooklyn, N.Y., The Morbid Anatomy Library and Cabinet is a research library and private collection available to the interested public.
